By the 1900s, if not earlier, Lyon & Healy might well have been manufacturing bowed string instruments. I don't believe it has been refinished, the shine on the finish in the photos is because i had just cleaned it with lemon oil prior to taking the pictures. Clearly, Lyon & Healy was making fretted string instruments in the 1880s, with Washburn (guitars, mandolins, banjos, and zithers) as their premier line. Does not appear to have had any repairs in the past. ![]() The top and sides are crack-free but the back has a few sealed hairline cracks that have not moved since I've known this (they were done a long time ago). 1880s Lyon and Healy parlor guitar in incredibly good shape. spun, guitar sixth strings listed price in Lyon & Healys 1884 catalog.
